What guests say about seniors holiday
Last August we spent a number of wonderful days at Gajole in Italy, staying in a tent from Lodge Holidays. What a luxury! Lovely beds, a private kitchen and even a private shower and toilet. A luxury espresso machine, Weber BBQ and plenty of FatBoy furnishings. You really no longer get the feeling that you are staying in a tent. An immaculately presented tent, and a welcoming and helpful campsite team! You can dine at the restaurant, but there is also a small yet fully stocked campsite shop. Cooking in your own covered outdoor kitchen is, incidentally, an absolute delight as well... All the tents were occupied, yet you are not at all disturbed by the 'neighbours', even when sitting out on the (large!) terrace. The campsite is relaxed and situated beside a beautiful lake in a wonderful setting. Highly recommended!

We spent 2 nights at this camping. It is located in a beautiful place, the common areas(shower, toilet), the lake itself is great! (Finally a place where you can jump into the lake.. SO FUN! :) ) We are only started staying in campings, and this camping was our first outside of our home country. The rules for us are too much, but next time we know that we need to read the rules of each camping before booking anything, because there could be surprises... However our vacation here was wonderful despite the owner's attitude. The pitches were strange for us, because we used to stay in campings where you can find some kind of separation between the pitches. Here there is nothing, your neighbour will be your close neighbour. Maybe it is not strange, but for us was a bit lame. I love the idea of the trash-selection, and if we did not know something where to throw away, the staff helped us. We will not come back next time, because we need to use our car, our equipments and tents were created for a car and here this is prohibited to leave the car on the pitch. (Unless it is a caravan, campervan) Good advice for everyone who are planning to come here: read the rules at the website, and if you agree with them you will have a wonderful holiday!
We stayed as a family of four for one night only. Due to the long drive and our tiredness, we didn’t find the property easily and felt there should have been more road signs, but once wr arrived we were impressed with the area. The property we stayed in was new so everything was sparkling clean. It was inspiring to see how nicely they’d planned the storage units and the furniture so that the mobile home didn’t feel small but felt rather spacious. Two bathrooms, two bedrooms, small kitchen and dining area in the middle, as well as a sitting area. The terrace was facing raw nature and tall trees, which I loved. The surrounding nature was gorgeous, too. To top it all up, the breakfast was lovely and we left refreshed and well rested. We would definitely stay here again, despite the long drive off the motorway.
Super lovely, not-too-large campsite with a wonderfully welcoming host and staff. Friendly, yet never intrusive — your privacy is fully respected. A beautifully maintained campsite, and the newer section by the static caravans is particularly lovely. The young lifeguard took his responsibilities very seriously, which kept things enjoyable for everyone, young and old! All the staff speak perfectly good English, so if French doesn't quite get you there, you'll always find a way together. The entertainment is very much in French, but they do make a real effort to translate into English as well. Thanks to that, we didn't even finish last at the pub quiz! ;-) The bar has a wonderfully convivial atmosphere, yet is by no means overwhelmingly busy, and we experienced absolutely no nuisance whatsoever. The bread rolls are wonderfully fresh — still warm, in fact, if you collect them in good time. The surrounding area is stunning and just as delightful to explore by bike, and the hire bicycles from the campsite were absolutely perfect for doing so! In short, a truly comfortable campsite that I would wholeheartedly recommend to everyone.

We had an amazing 10 days at Les Sapins. Jos and Lia put their heart and soul into making sure their guests are 100% comfortable. We stayed in a chalet which was fully equipped and tastefully decorated and also well-conditioned for the hot days and cool nights. The pool was nice and the surrounding area perfect if you want to get away from it all in a wonderful natural environment.
We spent two weeks at this campsite with our tent. We genuinely cannot understand why this campsite is primarily known as a transit campsite, as we found it a wonderful place to stay for longer. The campsite has a beautiful swimming pool, clean facilities, and lovely, spacious pitches with a magnificent view over Rimini and even the sea. A special word of praise for the very friendly cleaner, who ensured that everything always looked neat and well-kept. There is a bread service and a small campsite shop on site. By the swimming pool you can enjoy delicious ice creams, fresh fruit, drinks, and other refreshments, which we very much appreciated during the warm days. The only thing we felt was missing was a water point closer to the tent pitches. That would make a stay for campers who remain longer even more comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful too. San Marino itself is stunning, but we also visited Rimini and Bologna, and both cities are absolutely worth the trip. Thank you, dear and friendly campsite, for two wonderful weeks and an exceptionally enjoyable stay. We look back on our holiday with great fondness!

A wonderful campsite with spacious pitches on a beautiful private little beach. Close to Heeg. This is a place to truly unwind. The morning bread-roll service is lovely, and you can also buy nice coffee at the small 'café' by the beach. Shame it wasn't always open and no evening meals are offered 😀 The toilet/shower building near the entrance is great and attractive, but the one at the back is, by contrast, much less pleasant. Late in the evening the showers and toilets are no longer lit, which isn't great if you need the toilet at night 🤔 This doesn't outweigh the pleasant atmosphere, peace and cosiness of the campsite, so we'll definitely be back with our own Volkswagen T2 camper. Regards, Tim & Barbara

Just got back this week from this fantastic campsite. The pitches are spacious, the facilities are always super clean and the staff are very friendly. We stayed 2 weeks at Les 3 Cantons. When we arrived, most of the guests were Dutch, mostly families with children up to around 14, some up to around 18. Everyone was really relaxed and enjoying the surroundings. The campsite is beautifully laid out, the planting is 'wild' and therefore varied, the pitches are large (especially those along the west side of the campsite where we stayed) and also level. There's a row of trees between all the pitches. This gives some shade everywhere in the afternoon, which was nice since we sometimes had 38 degrees of full sun. The sanitary building is tidy, with 7 washing-up spots, 2 handwashing spots and 1 washing machine (which sometimes meant a bit of a queue for laundry). 2x 3 showers and 2x 3 sinks. There's also a row of toilets, including 1 urinal. Overall the facilities are sufficient, but a bit tight for the number of people, which meant some waiting at peak times. The pool is very beautiful, fairly quiet during the day, busy at the end of the afternoon when everyone wants a quick dip after a day out. Boisterous teenagers throwing balls and doing bombs can make it a bit crowded at times, especially in the shallow end where the younger children play, but we didn't find it unpleasant. Lots to do nearby. From the campsite there's an Adventure centre where you can do various activities for a fee. We ourselves did the 10km canoe trip and the caving tour (definitely recommended, despite the 50 euro per person). Not far from the campsite there's also a treetop adventure course which is great too. Every evening there's also a 'regular' activity on the campsite. A bingo, football tournament, water polo and on Fridays the ghost walk! In the evening it's quiet from 22:00 and completely silent from 23:00, really lovely! The campsite is an absolute must. (PS, you do need to be okay with spiders, as there are an awful lot of ground spiders.) (PS2 for anyone who's read the whole review, there's no annoying rooster.)

Arrived using the directions given by the campsite. Don't follow your navigation. The campsite is on top of a mountain. Friendly welcome with a drink of your choice. Beautiful, large pitch below the restaurant. It's a terraced campsite, with steps up to the restaurant and pool. What you spend at the campsite is tracked, and you can see this in your booking. On departure you pay everything in one go. We had an incorrect calculation, which was corrected immediately when we asked about it. We thought it was a lovely pool. There's no children's pool for young kids. It cooled down nicely at night. Small local supermarket 10 minutes' drive away. Regular supermarket 20 minutes down the mountain. Large supermarket 30 minutes away in Pesaro. A wonderful, welcoming campsite on top of a mountain with a beautiful view.

All about seniors holiday
Yes, our lodges are very comfortable and suitable for seniors. They're fully single-storey (no stairs or thresholds), with a spacious bed with a quality mattress, a private bathroom with a warm shower and a covered terrace. The furnishings offer all the comforts of home: kitchen, fridge, espresso machine and a seating area. The small-scale campsites have short walking distances and a peaceful atmosphere.
Absolutely. Our lodges offer hotel comfort right in nature. You sleep in a real bed, have a private bathroom with a warm shower, a fully equipped kitchen and an espresso machine. The only difference from a hotel is that in the morning you wake up to birdsong and a view of nature instead of a car park. Many guests who try glamping for the first time are surprised by the comfort and come back every year.
Friesland (Camping Vrijhaven in Heeg) is just 1-2 hours' drive from the Randstad — ideal if you don't want to travel far. For more sun and warmth, we recommend the Dordogne in France (around 10-12 hours): peaceful, green nature and good facilities. In Italy, Umbria and Le Marche are beautiful and much less busy than the well-known tourist areas. Podere Sei Poorte in Le Marche and Casa Tartufo are particularly peacefully located.
At Lodge Holidays, nothing is compulsory and everything is possible. One day you go for a walk in the area, the next you spend the whole day on the terrace with a book and an espresso. There's no entertainment programme you have to join in with — you set the pace. The campsites are in beautiful surroundings where you can enjoy nature, visit local markets or simply relax.
On every campsite page we list the exact distance to the nearest pharmacy, GP, hospital and supermarket. Most campsites are within 15-30 minutes of medical facilities. Healthcare in Italy and France is of a high standard. For specific concerns or questions, Rink-Jan is happy to advise you personally — he knows every campsite and its surroundings inside out.
The shoulder season (April-June and September-October) is ideal for seniors. The weather is pleasant (18-25°C), the campsites are quiet and prices are lower. Plus you benefit from the 7=6 long-stay discount. In May the olive groves bloom in Italy, in September the vineyards of Le Marche turn gold. These are the loveliest periods to enjoy nature, culture and gastronomy without the crowds of the high season.
