Glamping in Le Marche — personally selected by Rink-Jan
Glamping Le Marche
Le Marche lies between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea, with hill country that slopes down to the coast. It's the quiet neighbour of Tuscany: the same rolling landscapes and medieval villages, but without the crowds. The beaches of Fano and Senigallia are half an hour away, and in July and August it's around 29 degrees here.
Le Marche has two small-scale campsites. Camping Podere Sei Poorte lies in the hills near Monteciccardo, with a panoramic pool measuring eight by sixteen metres, an Italian restaurant and thirty to fifty hours of entertainment a week. Camping Casa Tartufo, near Sassoferrato, has a pool with a separate children's pool, pizza and barbecue evenings, and a Dutch-language tour of the old sulphur mines.

DISCOVER THE REGION
Le Marche — more than just glamping
Discover what makes the Le Marche region so special — from breathtaking nature to rich culture and endless activities.
LOCATION & CLIMATE Le Marche lies on the Adriatic side of Italy, between the Apennines and the sea, with Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria and Abruzzo as neighbours. The campsite is in the hills near Monteciccardo, about half an hour from the coast. Summers are warm and dry, with 29 degrees in July and August; April and October stay around 17 to 20 degrees, pleasant for walking.
NATURE The region is a mix of coast and hill country. Near Ancona, Monte Conero plunges steeply into the sea and offers panoramic views over the bays. The Monti Sibillini National Park has crystal-clear mountain lakes and walking routes. Underground, the Frasassi Caves stretch for kilometres, with chambers so high a cathedral would fit inside.
ACTIVITIES The beaches of Fano, Senigallia and Pesaro are just over half an hour away; Senigallia is known for its wide sandy beach. In the hills you can walk and cycle among the vineyards. There are wine tastings at Terra Cruda, guided tours of the old sulphur mines of Cabernardi, and the Frasassi Caves are very doable with children.
CULTURE Urbino, birthplace of Raphael, is on the UNESCO list with its Ducal Palace and is half an hour away. Ascoli Piceno has one of the most beautiful squares in Italy, made entirely of travertine. Smaller places such as Mombaroccio, Sassoferrato and Corinaldo are medieval walled villages with weekly markets and summer festivals.
