Hi, I'm Rink-Jan
Since 2012 I've been personally selecting the most beautiful small-scale glamping locations in Europe. I've visited every campsite myself. I've designed every lodge myself.
Why I started Lodge Holidays
For years, what I missed was the combination of the ease of a bungalow with genuine outdoor living. To me, a great glamping holiday means a good night's sleep, your own toilet and shower and comfortable furniture — but in a place where you really live outdoors. That's why I started Lodge Holidays in 2012.
Every campsite personally chosen
I visit every location myself before adding it to our range. Not from behind a desk, but on the ground — to feel whether it has the right atmosphere, whether the owners work with passion and whether guests truly feel at home. If I wouldn't want to holiday there myself, it doesn't make our range.
Lodges I've designed myself
I designed the lodge tents you rent from us myself: with proper beds, a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious veranda. Rugged, comfortable and full of character — complete with an Italian espresso machine and a Fatboy hammock.

Wat fijn om rechtstreeks met de eigenaar te kunnen sparren. Rink-Jan dacht echt mee over welke bestemming bij ons paste. Dat persoonlijke contact maakt Lodge Holidays uniek.
We twijfelden tussen twee campings en Rink-Jan stuurde ons gewoon een WhatsApp terug met zijn eerlijke mening. Zó fijn. De vakantie was onvergetelijk.
De lodge was nog mooier dan op de foto's. Alles was tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Rink-Jan heeft oog voor detail en dat merk je overal.
Onze kinderen hebben zich enorm vermaakt. De camping was kleinschalig, rustig en toch was er genoeg te doen. Precies wat Rink-Jan ons had beloofd.
Al drie jaar op rij boeken we via Lodge Holidays. Elk jaar een andere bestemming, elk jaar weer verrast. Rink-Jan kent zijn campings als geen ander.

After years of travelling across Europe, I know exactly what to look out for.
Don't drive in August
Italy's motorways are packed in August. Leave on a Thursday or Monday and avoid Saturdays completely. You can easily save 3 hours of driving.
Buy your bread locally
Every French campsite has a boulangerie nearby. Order the evening before and pick up fresh bread in the morning — that's the real French holiday feeling.
Go in June or September
July and August are Croatia at its busiest. In June and September the water is just as warm, but you'll have nature almost to yourself.
Grab a canoe
Vrijhaven Heeg lies right in the middle of the Frisian lake district. Hire a canoe or an electric boat and explore the area — you'll see the Netherlands at its best.

Yes. Every campsite we offer has been personally visited and approved by Rink-Jan. If he wouldn't want to holiday there himself, it's not in our range.
Lodge Holidays has existed since 2012. Since then, Rink-Jan has built up the range to 13 campsites in 4 countries, all with luxury lodge tents of his own design.
You can always contact Rink-Jan directly. He's there for you and liaises with the campsite owners where needed. Personal contact, even when things don't quite go to plan.
