A journey full of charm, fascinating history and culture, through charming villages, rolling vineyards, agriturismi and panoramic views. As well as visiting the various producers of Italian Prosecco, it’s also a real treat to stop off at a small trattoria every now and then to enjoy the sparkling wines.

Wine-growing in the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene in Veneto dates back to ancient times. The Prosecco vine was already being cultivated on these hills two hundred years ago. It is even said to have its origins in the drink ‘pucino’ from the Roman Empire.
Thanks to its altitude and climate, the region is ideally suited to the cultivation of the Prosecco grape: Glera. In 2009, Prosecco was awarded DOCG status, providing a guarantee of quality for both producers and consumers.
How do you drink Prosecco?
Prosecco is best served chilled as an aperitif or with fish or salad. Its flavour differs from that of its big brother from France, champagne, mainly due to its lively youthfulness; the fermentation process for Prosecco is much shorter, so drinking it straight away is the best option – leaving it for longer does not improve the quality. Of course, we have no objection to that. Saluti!
